George Strait attended University where he got his degree in Agriculture after he was respectably left Army in 1975. He’s one of the contemporary singers that keep loyal to traditional country sound. He was introduced to celebrity since early 80s with his first album “Unkown”. And during the eighties era, 7 of his albums topped the country chart.
George Strait’s glow hasn’t faded since he rose decades ago. In 2000s, the Academy of country music honored him the artist of the decade. Strait is not just special and famous for nothing, but numbers talk about him. He has sold over than seventy million albums over US and his Pure Country, the album he released in 1992, is his bestselling album that sold six million copies.
Strait’s star hasn’t fainted yet and he still imposing himself as an emblem of country music. His album Troubadour released in 2008 topped the country album charts. And a year later, he received Grammy award on the album. At the same year in 2009, Strait earned 4 CMAs awards.
Away from George Strait’s music career, he and his wife Norma has a son who they name after his father. And they lost a daughter in a car accident in 1986, and for her honor they created a foundation after her name The Jennifer Lynn Strait Foundation that raises money for children.
